Our first day

Today was Baby G and my first day at the baby sitters and back at work.
It went pretty well considering what I thought it would be like

I wasn't the blubbering mama I thought I'd be.
I mean yes I teared up when I left him and talked to hubby while driving to work
then teared up once at my desk
but did pretty good after that!

Baby G's sitter kept me updated through out the day with text messages and pictures
and that helped a lot
hubby also went and visited him when he got a break

Baby G slept a lot of the day
and I feel bad saying it, but that made me a little happy
because I felt that I wasn't missing out on a lot

I left right after school and picked him up as soon as I could
I hope the rest of the week goes smoothly

How many more days until Summer vacation? :)

I went to the baby sitter's house yesterday and...

I cried.
Yes right there in her house, while she held my son, I cried.

Not because I don't think
she will do a good job
she will take care of him right
he will be happy

But because I am sad to think about

a life without
holding him whenever I want
kissing him whenever I want
playing with him all day
watching him smile and giggle when he first wakes up
and being the first to see him hit each milestone

{and yes I am crying again, ugh!}

But when I took him to work
after the baby sitter's for everyone to meet him,
they were excited to see him {and me, I think}
and said that my students really miss me
and are excited to have me back.

So when I came home
I told hubby that I'm trying to remind myself
that me going back to work means
that we will be able to live more comfortably
that we can give our baby and future children more
that we can take them to Disney Land
or Disney World
or both

So I will keep saying that
and hopefully it will help this transition.

Mommies out there...
What helped you when you went back?

5 ? Friday

1. If you had $1,000 to donate to a charity, which would you choose?

My first thought is St. Jude. I think they are such a wonderful hospital that do really wonderful things!
{pic}
My second thought would be the ASPCA because I am a big lover of animals and get sad during their commercials!
{pic}

I think I might need $2000 :)

2. Snow days: Do you welcome them happily or are they a pain in your butt?
Well as a Texas girl {south Texas at that} I would take a snow day in a heart beat!! :)
3. What talent did you wish you had and why?
Probably something crafty so that I could make and sell my items to make enough to be a stay-at-home Mom!

4. Are you a news, politics or celebrity gossip junkie?

Definitely a celebrity gossip junkie first, then the news with a splash of politics in between!

5. What is your favorite "cocktail"? (Are you a beer person, a kiddie cocktail junkie, or perhaps your more the "Cosmo" kind?! Anything flies...doesn't hafta be alcoholic!)
Alcoholic: a Margarita on the rocks with salt!
I haven't had one in about a year because of being pregnant and now breast feeding! It is totally worth missing though!
{pic}

Guilty pleasure: A small Coca Cola!
I am only allowed a little caffeine each day and this is my go to when I have a craving.

Everyday drink: a Jug of water with a splash of Simply Lemonade to add flavor! Hubby calls it an Allyn-tini :)

All good things must come to an end.

or at least my good thing called maternity leave :(

This is my last week home with Baby G and I am very sad.
I keep telling myself that mommies do it everyday, but I am really nervous to leave him :(

I also keep reminding myself to not wear mascara for the first week back so that I don't end up looking like this all day...

Five Question Friday!

1. Where did you meet your spouse and did you instantly know it was love?
I met my hubby at a concert! Three friends and I drove 2 hours to watch a band and make a weekend trip of it. When we walked in my hubby spotted me, we started talking, exchanged numbers, and  dated long distance for a year, before I moved to where he was after I graduated.

I don't think it was instantly love, but definitely instantly interested :)

2. What is your favorite room in your house?
Probably my bedroom... more specifically in my bed! It is where I run when it's cold, when my favorite show is on, when I want to be lazy, and most importantly when I want to snuggle with hubby and Baby G!

3. Can you wiggle your ears?
Um, going to have to say no to this one. Definitely not that talented!

4. What is your evening ritual?
Right now?? Feed Baby G, change Baby G, Daddy's home--say hi, feed Baby G, change Baby G, Make dinner, Feed Baby G, ...... oh you get it!

But sadly this will change soon (and get a little crazier) when I go back to work Boo!

5. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
To function... probably 6. Would I like to request...about 10, and not from like 7 to 5, more like 10 to 8 :)

I have a confession

I have lied on this page.....

You might remember my earlier post where I said my little man had a hard time during naps.

Well, although that is all true

 there still is a lie!

 WHAT?? You might ask.....

It is right there for all to see....

Just look closely! No! Not the baby... the Onesie!

I am proud to say! This Onesie is a complete LIE!

This is because Baby G is a great sleeper at night!
I really do feel blessed. He sleeps from about 10 pm to 5:30 am
where he eats and falls back to sleep until around 7:30 and then
he eats and falls back to sleep until around 9!

Now I am keeping in mind that he is only 2 months old
and I am on maternity leave right now
So as I go back to work (BOO!) and little man goes to his sitter
this will probably change!

But I am really excited about it right now!

I think he is spoiling me!
Our second will probably bring me a BIG wake up call!
Literally! :)
