Look at all you've done

in just two short months!

Here you were your first night home!

Your oh so tiny!!

You have watched many football games with Daddy! (and most of the time your teams win!)

You love to stretch.....
 and stretch!

You are a little thinker....

And I loved when you smiled in your sleep for the first time...

and then laughed in your sleep for the first time.

We celebrated our first holiday together!

Watched you turn one month old!! I couldn't believe how fast this came!

You've lounged...

and bounced....

and love playing under your jungle!

You met Santa!!

and then you turned two months old and started growing out of your newborn clothes! That made me a little sad!

But one of the funnest things has been watching as you've started communicating with us!

We love you so much!

But how could we not... just look at that sweet face!

Have you ever had one of those moments...

Have you ever had one of those moments where you can't find the words to explain a feeling your having?

You have the words right there at the tip of your tongue but they just don't seem to fit the feeling?

Any variation of the words just don't fit.

I had that moment recently....

As I looked down at my son and thought.... I love you sooo much.... yet those words just don't do the trick.

He feels..... like a part of me... and not because he grew in my belly.... but more like a part of my body...

like a lung.....or my heart....yet that doesn't seem to explain that heart wrenching love feeling just right either!

Letters to my baby!

Today is January 5th

Hey Little Man! Well as you can see, it is after the new year and for my resolution I am going to get caught up on your letters! So as I said in your last letter your birth was a bit of a world wind! To keep with that theme you gave us a bit of a scare the first day and a half you were born. You were having trouble keeping your temperature up and the nurses would take you and rush you back under the special lamp I told you about to get your temperature back up. They had to do this twice and said if we needed to do it again they would need to take you to the NICU. This is a special nursery where they watch you very closely and Mommy and Daddy wouldn't be able to hold you as much. We were really happy that this didn't happen! You will see in the pictures of you that we always had you bundled up in blankets to help keep you warm!
Here you are on your birthday with Honey and Grandpa

And you Granny and Papa meeting you for the first time!
 You and Aunt Katy
Aunt Megan and Sean holding you!
Here is Daddy and Mommy holding you!
And this is Mommy's favorite first picture of you and Daddy!

Your Aunt Jackie also got to see you in the nursery but had to leave, and Grandpa and Grandma came to see you the night your were born. As you can tell, you are very loved by many people!

Love you bunches,
Mommy

Letters to my baby!

Today is December 21st

Hey Baby Gavin! This letter is going to tell you all about your adventure getting here! So as I said before, Mommy was put on bed rest and had been laying down for about a week and a half before the doctors decided that it was time for you to come. Mommy wasn't due to have you for another 3 weeks.

The doctors had been running test on both of us to make sure we were okay and trying to keep you in there as long as possible. Mommy and Daddy would go to the hospital to have these test done. It was November 2nd around 7:30pm when Daddy and Mommy had gone into the hospital for the third time for the test. On the way there Daddy had asked me if I thought this could be it, that they were going to keep us in the hospital and say it was time for you to come. I quickly said, "No, we will be back home in about 2 hours!" Boy was I wrong! :) When we got there it was the same as usual. They ran test and I laid on the bed while they put your heart on the monitor and watched you. You always looked great and your heart beat looked beautiful every time! We had been there for about 2 hours when Daddy went to get a drink from the machine. He met our nurse in the hallway and I could hear them talking as they walked in. With great big eyes your Daddy walked in behind the nurse mouthing to me that, "This was it! We were staying here!" I could feel my face get hot and chills went down my back! I was excited to meet you but was also nervous because you were having to come early! The nurse explained that my blood pressure had gotten really high and they needed to deliver you because I could be in danger of having a seizure!  After a while they moved us into another room so that we could deliver you the next day!

It was about 11:00 at night when Mommy was able to call your Honey to tell them that you were coming the next day! She was sleeping but I think that woke her up pretty quickly! :) Daddy also called your Granny and Papa to give them the news. It was about midnight when Mommy finally got to go to bed. They were giving me medicine which made me feel really tired. Your Honey and Grandpa, Aunt Katy and Aunt Megan, Granny and Papa, and Aunt Jackie had all come to the hospital to be there when you arrived. The nurses were all telling us that it would be a long day and that you would probably come that afternoon.

Mommy had fallen asleep again but when I woke up Daddy was talking with the nurses. The Nurses explained to me that my blood pressure was getting really high and I was starting to shake while I was sleeping. They also said that your heart beat was dropping every time Mommy had a contraction and that we needed to have an emergency c-section to get you out quickly! The doctor came in and looked at the information and agreed that we needed to have a c-section. Before Mommy knew it Daddy was changed into hospital clothes and Mommy was being taken back to have you. It all happened really fast! They took Mommy in first and when they were ready Daddy came in the room and sat next to me. We waited for a little while and all of a sudden the doctor said,"It's a BOY!" Daddy said he could see your little legs in the air as the doctors took you out and a few seconds later we heard you cry! They took you over to a table to clean you up and clean out your mouth and nose so you could breath. They told Daddy to come over there. A few seconds later Daddy brought you over for me to meet you! You were so cute, bundled up in a blanket with a little cap on your head!

I only saw you for a second because Daddy and the nurses needed to take you to the nursery so that they could put you under a special lamp to keep you warm. Here are some of your very first pictures your Aunts and Honey got of you!
This is Daddy bringing you in right after you left me!
Your very first nurse wrote this on Daddy's scrubs and put your feet prints on there too!
He is watching you closely! It all happened so fast!
And these are your very first pictures!! You can't be more than 5 minutes old!
You have the famous pucker! You, Mommy, and Honey all did this when we were born! :)

Letters to my baby!

Today is December 4th

Hey Little Man! So after we got those cute pictures of you, things started to change for Mommy. At Mommy's doctor appointments they were checking my blood pressure and little by little my blood pressure was starting to rise. Mommy could tell there was something going on because she was having some swelling. Mommy's blood pressure was getting to high and they needed me to go on bed rest so that I would lay down and help you stay in my tummy as long as we could! Mommy was put on bed rest on October 22nd, two days after our last baby shower. We found out that if I laid on my left side you would be the safest! This was a little boring and at times my hip would hurt, but Mommy was going to do what she could to help you stay in her tummy and grow!

I can't believe how big you have gotten already!

We love you so much,
Mommy

Letters to my baby!

Today is December 7th

Hey little man! You are taking a nap right now so I wanted to quickly fill you in on the wonderful parties everyone threw for you before you were here! While Mommy was pregnant with you, we were fortunate enough to have three baby showers thrown for us! You Honey and Aunts Katy and Megan threw the first one at Honey's house.

This is the diaper cake that they made you! You used every one of those diapers! :) They all worked really hard on making goodies for everyone to eat including cute monkey cupcakes and lion cookies!

We then played games, like which candy bar is in the diaper :), and opened great presents for you to use!

The second baby shower was at your Granny's house! She has ordered a really cute cake from The Cake Lady near her house. I loved this cake! Your room is decorated in a jungle theme and this cake was perfect to match it!
This was also a really fun shower full of games, great friends and family, and wonderful gifts for you and Mommy! Your Aunt Jackie went with your Granny to pick up decorations and she found all this stuff for Mommy to where during the shower, here is a very swollen Mommy in her get up!

Our last shower was at Mommy's work. All of the teachers that teach third grade with Mommy threw us a shower! They worked so hard and did such a great job! They made lasagna, one of Mommy's favorites, with salad and garlic bread. One of the ladies husbands made to bread by hand just for the shower and it was delicious! They also had a very cute cake made! Mommy was so touched by everything that was given to us and how hard everyone worked to make this a special time for us! A friend of Mommy's had gone to the store everyday over the summer to save up wipes for you until she had 52 boxes! 52 BOXES!! I could not believe it! That was so sweet! Your closet it full of wipes right now! :)

There was a lot of people excited for you and they have all loved meeting you now that you are here!

Love you so much,
Mommy

Letters to my baby!

Today is December 3rd

Hey Little Man! I am a little behind on updating you on what all has gone on! A LOT has changed since I updated you last, as I am actually watching you sleep next to me right now!

Well, everything was going pretty well. Mommy was going to the doctor to watch you and make sure you were growing and that Mommy was healthy. When Mommy went back to work her blood pressure started going up so the doctors were watching us closely.
When I was 29 weeks pregnant with you I had another doctors appointment. At this appointment you decided to lay kind of funny which made you seem big so the doctors wanted to take a few pictures of you to make sure you weren't growing to fast! Luckily everything was just fine and they guessed that you weighed about 4 pounds then. I was happy because Daddy was able to barely get there in time to get some great pictures of you! Here you are at 29 weeks in Mommy's tummy.

Your Aunts and Grandparents were really excited to get these surprise pictures of you!

A few weeks later Mommy and Daddy went to get 3D pictures of you taken. These are pictures that show more details about what you will look like! It was so neat to see. Daddy had also gotten a new phone that would take video so he took video's of us seeing you and we also got to take a dvd home of you moving around.

It took a little while to get these pictures of you! You were not in the mood to have your picture taken this day, you would move your head, put your hands in front of your face, and even your feet!

Everyone was really excited to see these pictures of you! We could not wait to meet to and see your sweet face in person! Mommy and Daddy love you so much and will always cherish these special pictures of you!

We love you bunches,
Mommy
