Anniversary - Part 1

Yeah I am already back with my second post!!

So, last weekend James and I celebrated our first anniversary!! I cannot believe it has been a year since we got married. It went so fast. So why is it "part 1"? Well, in July we are going to Cozumel!!! Which is really going to be our anniversary celebration. We are waiting till July because my sisters and their boyfriends are also coming!! Katy and Will are taking Summer courses and we planned the trip to fit right between their two class sessions. It is going to be so much fun! We cannot wait.

But back to our anniversary weekend......

So as I said, we celebrated our anniversary, but decided to keep it small and really just spend our days together in Houston. We started our trip by going to the Houston Zoo. I think we were really surprised by how much fun we had there! There were really so many great animal exhibits.
My favorite animal was the otter. James took this pictures like 8 times before we could get a good picture! He swam fast!!

I really like zebra stripes so I had to get a picture of the zebra!

And of course I couldn't stop being a teacher...so we spent like 45 minutes in the Reptile and Amphibian center!! My students have a hard time catagorizing which is which!! James was really such a good sport!

We then went to the Museum of Natural Science and saw the butterfly exhibit. It was so neat! It is like a giant green house with plants EVERYWHERE and butterflies just fly right up to you! There was some beautiful butterflies!

We then went to our hotel room at Magnolia Hotel in Downtown Houston. We really liked this hotel. We had a free happy hour from 5-6pm and free cookies and milk from 8-10pm. (Mom stop laughing!) I know I am somewhat of a penny pincher so I thought this was so cool!! When we walked into our room this is what we saw!

Isn't it so pretty!!

This was the bed and the view out the window! It was really nice!

We then went to the Aquarium Restaurant. That was really neat! There was a 2 story tank in the center of the spiral staircase and a HUGE tank in the middle of the restaurant! It was a lot of fun!

We left the hotel Sunday morning and ended our weekend with a round of golf. James loves to golf and is really good. Me on the other hand just started playing and am not as great:) But I really did Ok! I only played a few holes but James was impressed with my swing!!

So all in all we had a great weekend, and cannot wait for COZUMEL!!!
