Mom and my trip to Schulenburg!

Okay, so I am a little late on posting this, but late is better than never right!!

A few weeks ago my mom and I met in Schulenburg, Tx. We met halfway between the two of us and spent the day together. We had so much fun together! We went to a few flea markets where I found a metal basket that I put on my coffee table and a wire teapot to hang in my kitchen! It goes so well with the cute teapots my sister got me for Christmas! We then went to Oakridge Smokehouse for lunch.
Isn't it such a cute little building?!? I love the front sign that says come as U R bring Ma & Pa! There food was great and really tasted like authentic German food.

After lunch we drove down the road a little and saw two of the painted churches. These are cute little churches that look like any other from the outside but once you step inside it is a whole new experience! There are four churches in all. We only went to two of them and unfortunately they were locked. But we definitely looked through windows! Here are a few pictures of the outside of the churches!
They are so pretty and you can feel the history when you are there! I can't wait to go back and get to see the insides of the churches up close! This trip was so fun and I loved spending the day with my Mom! I hope we can go back soon! Maybe we can all go and make it a family trip!

  2. Hey! I was updating my old blog and decided to visit yours. That is so cool that you went to those churches! I was just reading about those a few weeks ago when I was looking for things to do in Texas. I told Brian we need to go and see some of them. There is a map somewhere online of all the painted churches and where they are.
